Depending on the type and position of the seals, profiles are divided into 2 systems: rebate seal sys-tems and centre seal systems:

Rebate seal systems

In these systems, the outer seal lies in the frame rebate, i.e. in full view. This creates a smooth, low-maintenance profile contour when in the open position. Rebate seal systems can be used on all types of windows, French windows and front doors and are ideal for individual houses or apartment blocks.



Centre seal systems

In these systems the seal is concealed in the centre of the frame, and is thus protected from the wind and weather. This positioning creates an uneven profile contour when the window is opened; making it high maintenance. In centre seal systems, fixed window types can only be produced by using addi-tional profiles. Front door constructions are not possible. For this reason, these profiles are primarily used in administrative buildings and in the commercial construction sector because pressure-free drainage is possible and these systems are able to withstand the demands of installations set at high levels.
